Mobile Printing
With our mobile printing services, library cardholders can print from anywhere and pick up documents at any GRPL location.
Printing Basics
- Printing is free, with a limit of 50 pages per week with your library card.
- Additional pages cost $0.15 each
- Double-sided printing is considered two pages
- Printing is available on provided 8.5 x 11 paper only
- Please print and collect your items on the same day during open hours
- Supported file types include .pdf, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .bmp, .tif, .tiff, .doc, .docx, .pub, .rtf, .htm, .txt, .html, .xlsx, .xls, .pptx, .ppt, .odt, .xps, .ods, .odp
- Total file size for all attachments must not be larger than 100 MB.
- Any password protected documents cannot be processed.
- Library staff are not responsible for editing or formatting your documents. Please ensure they are ready to be printed before you send them.
- Print jobs remain in the queue for 24 hours.
Picking Up Print Jobs
Go to the small kiosk next to the printer and enter the Library Card number to release the job. If printing exceeds the free page limit for the week, talk to a staff member for assistance.
Mobile Printing Instructions
- Click the "Print Documents" button above
- Enter your Library Card or Guest Pass number.
- Enter your PIN.
- Click "Submit."
- Upload your files:
- Either drag and drop files into the rectangle
- Or Click "Select Files" to open File Explorer. Select your file and click "Open." Repeat if printing multiple files.
- Each uploaded file will be listed by document name.
- If necessary, change the printing options for each file, e.g. number of copies and single or double.
- Under User Information, enter optional notification details.
- Click "Submit."

To access these services, you will need a library card or guest pass. A guest pass is provided to visitors who are not in our service area, are visiting from out of town, or are unable to obtain a library card. Ask a staff member for more information about guest passes on your next visit.

Yes. All GRPL locations offer free WiFi. The library’s public WiFi network is called ‘GRPL_Public’. Visit a staff member if you need help logging on.
Please note that The Grand Rapids Public Library reserves the right to terminate network connections in accordance with Library policies and Federal, State and local laws.

Yes. GRPL has public computers available at all locations. To use a computer, you need a valid library card. Temporary guest passes are available for users who are visiting from out of town or don’t have a library card. Computer sessions are limited to 1 hour at all branch locations and 2 hours at the Main Library.

Printing and copying services are free and are limited to 50 pages per week for library cardholders. Additional pages are $0.15 per page. Faxing and scanning services are free.

Yes! Faxing, copying, & scanning services are currently free and are limited to 50 pages per week. To have your documents faxed, copied or scanned, speak with a staff member at any GRPL location.
